This is a private reference resource, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release someone, post bail, or pull an official booking record. Contact the responsible government office directly for those matters.
County Records and Jail Contacts
The Sheriff’s Office is the countywide public-data route for booking records or a booking photograph that is not displayed on the roster. The Correctional Facility is the operational contact for jail information. Use the source that holds the record, and confirm hours or routing before visiting.
The home page explains how the roster, daily lockup PDF, records request, court system, and state or federal locators fit different custody stages.
Which Office Holds What
Start with a narrow question and give the office the name, relevant date, agency, and any case or incident number you know.
- For a public county booking record or booking photo, contact the Sheriff’s Records Division or use the Clay County Data Practices request route.
- For a current county roster entry, use the GIS Inmate Roster and then contact the facility if immediate confirmation is needed.
- For a Clay County court case or later disposition, use Minnesota public court access or the court administrator.
- For a Minnesota DOC record, use the DOC Data Practices route, Records Management at 651-361-7330, or CO-Records.DOC@state.mn.us.
- For a city incident or police record, contact the relevant city police records custodian. Moorhead has a Records Unit; Dilworth and Barnesville use their city data-request paths.
